CMT Has a new edition of Crossroads coming this month: Willie Nelson & Friends from Third Man Records. The celebration jam-packed with music all-stars for Willie’s 80th birthday. Willie performs some of his most loved hits with various guests, including Sheryl Crow, Jamey Johnson, Norah Jones, Ashley Monroe, Leon Russell and Neil Young. The concert was taped at Third Man Records. “Third Man” is a Nashville recording studio and record shop owned by musician Jack White. Though White is a long time rocker, founder of The Raconteurs, co-founder of the legendary White Stripes and with a notable solo career, he is also a good friend in the world of country music. Country listeners would most recognize White from his duet with Loretta Lynn “PortlandOregon” released on Loretta’s “Van Lear Rose” album
The episode of Crossroads will show performance selections including “Crazy,” “Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground,” “Shotgun Willie” and a group sing-along of “WhiskeyRiver.” The one-hour special also includes an interview conducted by Jack White. Tune in June 23rd for the premiere at 9 p.m. Eastern/Pacific and 8 p.m. Central/Standard.
